Obituary of Katherine Violet Goldsmith

Katherine Violet Goldsmith, 93, of Syracuse, New York, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Loretto in Syracuse. Katherine was born December 13, 1913 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Claire and Blanche (Willis) Markham. She was a graduate of Syracuse General Hospital Nursing School and retired in 1978 as a Registered Nurse from Syracuse General Hospital. She was a communicant of St. James Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Goldsmith; grandson, Michael Marshall; sister, Alice Markham and brothers, Donald and Claire Markham. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Douglas) Thompson of Syracuse, New York; son, J. Michael (Mary E.) Goldsmith of Syracuse, New York; grandchildren, Christopher and Amy Goldsmith, Mary Beth Kelly and Kirk Marshall; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan and Evan Kelly, Dylan and Maya Marshall. A calling hour will be held Thursday, 9:30 10:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, 2315 South Avenue, Syracuse, New York.
