Obituary of Catherine R. Johnston

Catherine R. Johnston, 88, of Syracuse, New York and formerly of Oak Park, Illinois died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at The Jewish Home of CNY in Syracuse. Catherine was born October 3, 1918 in Scotland, the daughter of Edward and Martha (Wilkinson) Johnston. She was an ophthalmology technician in Oak Park, Illinois for 20 years and retired after 20 years as a secretary with Sears Roebuck & Co. in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park and a member of their Alter Guild. She was a member of the 19th Century Club. Catherine is survived by two nieces, Catherine Petitte of Tully, New York and Susan Sadler of Atlanta, Georgia; one nephew, Barclay Berdan of Ft. Worth, Texas; eight great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rebecca Berdan, January 2006. Services will be private.
