Obituary of Lester Gordon Jarvis

Lester Gordon Jarvis, 82, of Jamesville, New York, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at home. Lester was born March 25, 1924 in Tupper Lake, New York, the son of Edward and Gertrude (Gaff) Jarvis. He retired as a patrolman with Allied Chemical and as a Special Deputy with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 3120. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Katherine Jarvis in 2001. Lester is survived by his sons, Jason S. Jarvis of LaFayette, New York and Ellis B. Barber of Bernards Bay, New York; daughters, Patricia A. Sapp and Julia Bertrand both of Texas; brother, Marshall Jarvis of South Carolina; sisters, Shirley Foltz of Georgia, Phyllis Jarvis of Tupper Lake, New York and Nikki Jarvis of Utica, New York; many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: Monday, December 18, 2006, 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 6437 E. Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, New York. Entombment: St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 4100 E.
