Aaron Fields Jacobs, Sr., 65, life resident of Syracuse, New York, died Monday, October 9, 2006 at Vivian Teal Howard RHCF in Syracuse. Aaron was born April 13, 1941 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Barney and Elizabeth (Gordon) Jacobs. He was an Onondaga and a member of the Beaver Clan. He worked as a truck driver and fork lift operator. He was a Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam, a member of Tipperary Hill American Legion Post 1361 and a former member of VFW, Belden Avenue. He loved to golf. Aaron is survived by his two sons, Aaron Fields Jacobs Jr. of Basom, New York and Shondar Powless of Onondaga Nation; daughter, Corina King of Orlando, Florida; brother, Carl Jacobs of Syracuse, New York; five sisters, Louise Brennan of Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada, Muriel Jacobs of LaFayette, New York, Genevieve Alexander of Syracuse, New York, Isabel Homer of Nedrow, New York and Carolyn Joy of Auburn, New York; his former wife and close friend, Theresa Doxtator of Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Joanie Jacobs and son, Peter John King. Services: Friday, October 13, 2006, 9:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York and 10:00 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford Street, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, New York.
