Obituary of Estella M. Arnold

Estella M. Arnold, 88, of Lafayette, New York and Newport Richey, Florida, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, New York. Estella was born May 8, 1918 in Almond, New York, the daughter of Archie and Pearl (Harvey) Makeley. She was an Elementary School Teacher for 25 years, retiring in 1975 from Rockwell Elementary School in the Onondaga Central School District. She was a member of Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette and was an avid quilter and reader. Estella is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alton E. Arnold; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary L. (Sheila) Arnold of Tucson, Arizona and David A. (Teresa) Arnold of Syracuse, New York; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancilu (Leland) Emery of Avon, New York and Marcia B. (Don) Evans of LaFayette, New York; one brother, Staryl "Jiggs" Makeley of Newport, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Cathleen Good, Jeffrey L. Arnold, Christopher Arnold, Michael Emery, Barbara Green, Jason Evans, Mathew Evans and Sarah Evans; seven great-grandchildren, Braiden and Selah Arnold, Caitlin and Julia Good, Casey, Noah and Tatum Arnold; one niece and one great-niece. Services: Monday, July 17, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Columbian Presbyterian Church, corner of Route 20 & Route 11, LaFayette, New York with Rev. John Kloepfer officiating.
