Obituary of Robert E. Duncan

Robert E. Duncan Sr., 86, of The Valley in Syracuse, New York, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Robert was born July 7, 1919 in Green Springs, Ohio, the son of Ross E. and Elizabeth (Herman) Duncan. He retired from Smith-Corona Corp. and from Onondaga County. He served his country as an Officer in the US Army during WW II in Europe and the Pacific. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, The Angler's Association, the former South Side Lion's Club and was a Hunter Safety Instructor. He loved spending time at his summer home on Twitchell Lake and was an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Mortensen Duncan on November 2, 2004. Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert E. Duncan Jr. and Bruce Duncan both of Hamilton, New York; one sister, Althea McIntyre of Onondaga Hill, New York; five grandchildren, Kelly Metzger, Todd Duncan, Suzanne Morgan, Reeley Duncan and Jennifer Duncan; six great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. Services: Tuesday, June 20, 2006, 12:00 noon at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
