Obituary of Isabella W. Beattie

Isabella W. Beattie, 86, of Syracuse, New York died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. Isabella was born March 20, 1920 in East Lothian, Tranent, Scotland, the daughter of John and Isabella (Grieve) Lauder. She married John R. Beattie in 1946 and they moved to the United States in 1951. She retired after 17 years as a legal secretary for Philip Zenner, Esq. She was a very active member of Lady Douglas Lodge 126, a member of Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of Scotia and St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church. Isabella is survived by her husband of 60 years, John R. Beattie; one son and daugher-in-law, Ronald John (Diane) Beattie of Cicero, New York; two sisters, Margaret Hutchison of Scotland and Jean Preston of England; two brothers, Alec Lauder of Scotland and John (Mae) Lauder of Syracuse, New York; granddaughter, Erin (Jason) Scott of Liverpool, New York; great-grandson, Anthony Scott of Liverpool, New York; several nieces and nephews. A Calling Hour will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2006, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. in the church, 5013 S.
