Obituary of Leon R. Isbell
Leon "Pete" R. Isbell, 81, of Fabius, NY, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Born at home in Onondaga, NY, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Iona (Searle) Isbell. Pete belonged to the Teamsters Union Local 317, where he was employed as a truck driver. In his retirement, he worked at the Pompey Club Golf Course for seven years, and LaMont Paving for another seven. Pete loved nature and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed playing cards whenever possible. Pete was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and NRA.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of nearly 46 years, the former Diane Platt; sons, Randy Isbell of Syracuse, Michael Isbell of Tully, and Dale Isbell of Truxton; granddaughters, Ryleigh and Hailee Isbell; sister, Marion Ryan of Marcellus; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205.
