Obituary of William A. Osadchey

William (Bill) A. Osadchey 70 of LaFayette, passed away Saturday July 15 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Bill retired as a Lt.Colonel in the United States Air Force after serving for 22 years. Following his retirement from the Air Force he was employed by Onondaga County as a case worker in Child Protective Serives. Bill received his BA/Education from SUNY Cortland in 1968, MA/Business Adminstration from Troy State University in 1978 and another MS/International Logistics Management from the Armed Forces Institute of Technology in 1979. He was a dedicated public servent throughout his life. Bill is survived by his loving wife, the former Linda Case, two sons Brian William Osadchey of LaFayette and Todd James Osadchey of Cocoa Beach, FL. A grandson Derek James Osadchey of McKinney TX. He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Stisser Osadchey, and his father, Alex Carlton Osadchey of Truxton. He has a sister Judith (Lew) Osadchey Heath of Homer, as well as many Aunts,Uncles and Cousins. Bill was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing and hiking as well as antique bottle collecting. In his retired years, he loved spending time in the Adirondacks, particularly at his rustic, off-the-grid cabin in the woods. Spending time around a campfire with friends and family was a favorite past time. Calling hours will be from 10-11 am Friday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home 4612 South Salina St. Syracuse. A Memorial Service will take place immediately after calling hours, followed by commital at the Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
