Obituary of Charles "Mickey" McAllister

Charles “Mickey” McAllister Jr., 76 of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was born in 1946 to Charles Sr. and Mary Geraldine (Ryan). Mickey graduated from East Syracuse High School in 1964. After graduation he joined the United States Navy. Mickey retired from Brach’s Candy Corp. after 20 years in the candy business. Upon retirement Mickey became a bar tender at various restaurants in the Syracuse area and was an avid golfer and softball player.

Mickey is survived by his wife of 10 years; Kathleen, “Kat” (Thibert); three daughters, Ann (Don) Waleski, Maureen Ray and Karen (Bill) Kittle; step son, Michael (Sue) Mastroleo; four grandchildren, Logan Gallogly, Riley Kittle, Sophia and Haley Mastroleo; four brothers, Dennis (Pat), Tom (Joanne), Robert (Amy) and Joseph (MaryLou) McAllister; seven sisters, Sue (John) Trivison, Anne Wessing, Mary (Michael) Maser, Kathy Waite, Joanne Neider (Mark Oot) Gen (Martin) Daatselaar and Peg (Bix) DeBaise; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling Hours will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Marianne Cope at St. Ceclila Church, 1001 Woods Rd. Solvay. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
