Obituary of Barbara Rufls Hartig

Barbara Rulfs Hartig, 79, of Syracuse, NY died on Monday, April 8, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Middletown, CT. She was the daughter of the late Ludwig George Rulfs and Anna Brandt Rulfs. Barbara graduated from Portland High School in 1962 and retired from Raymond Engineering in Middletown, CT. She was a member of the Alpenland Schuhplattler Dancers in Britain, CT for 40 years and was also very active with Middletown VFW Post 1840. Barbara was a life member of Rod Craig VFW Auxiliary 1955 in LaFayette, NY.

Barbara is survived by her husband, William Hartig of Syracuse, NY; son, Christian Sweeney of Syracuse, NY; 5 grandchildren, Amber Sweeney of Fulton, NY, Shannon Sweeney of Brick Township, NJ, Thomas Price of North Port, FL, and Eva and Bryan Kloepfer of Syracuse, NY; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
