Obituary of Herman A. Koll

Herman A. "Herm" Koll, 78 of LaFayette, New York and formerly of Constantia, New York, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, New York following a long illness. Herman was born January 17, 1928 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Christian and Ellen Nora (Whonhart) Koll. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Calvary, 37th Field Artillery Battalion 1946-1947. He worked for Irish Construction Company for 41 years. Herm loved spending his time outdoors, including camping and traveling and was an avid bowler for many years. He especially enjoyed spending time with all his family. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, the former Ada Ledger; two daughters, Karen (Robert) Russell of Lafayette, New York and Cindy (Kevin) Carley of Jamesville, New York; five grandchildren, Allyson (Mark) Russell-Remon of Jamesville, New York, Casey Russell of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Serena Boisseau of Jamesville, New York, Cory and Kelly Russell of Lafayette, New York; several nieces and nephews. Services: Saturday, December 2, 2006, 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 6136 Cherry Valley Turnpike, LaFayette, New York. Burial will be private. Calling Hours: Friday, December 1, 2006, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, New York.
