I'm so sorry for your loss. Jean and I were in email contact for several years. We were both members of the WWII War Brides Association. Although we never met, Jean and my mum and I sailed on the same ship from Sydney, Australia. We left Sydney on March 21, 1946 and arrived in San Francisco on April 7, 1946. My mum was also a war bride. At one time, there were 4 of us SS Lurline "sailors" in the war brides association. We all arrived in America at the same time, same ship. After my own mum died in 2012, it was comforting to be in contact with Jean and several other Aussie war brides. I do know your feeling of loss. My eyes tear up thinking of her.

One of your many lessons taught to me was to always appreciate what you have and never be disappointed with what you don't have. I am VERY thankful and appreciative to have had 56 wonderful years with you, and, as you taught, I am not disappointed because something better has now happened. You are now walking with Jesus and painting the most beautiful seascapes and beaches. You are talking with Jesus and telling all of your stories from a life that was rich and full. All those who knew you have been made better for their experience (no matter how brief). You are blessed, loved, and will always be remembered, but we won't be disappointed at your absence. We will rejoice from your presence. Bless you.

My condolences to the family of Jean. Prior to knowing who Jean was I worked with her husband Bob at Sam's Club. When we moved into our house I later learned that Jean and Bob were married. We enjoyed having her as a neighbor for the past 6 years. Often I would come home from work during the summer and she would be sitting on the front porch with her pup and she would call me over and we would talk for several hours about her life. I will greatly miss those conversations. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

My Grammy was one of a kind and a beautiful person. I was fortunate enough to have her for 30 years of my life and was always very close with her. I will miss her everyday but she is in a better place and watching over us all. I love you Grammy (GeeGee) and I will miss you so. -Kaitilin Gilmer

Keith and Dorothy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was an amazing woman. I enjoyed visiting with her when I cared for her pets and visiting her at her home. She had a great sense of humor and we enjoyed laughing together and an occasional beverage. We shared stories and long conversations. She offered support when my husband was ill and later passed. She was always willing to listen. You were very fortunate to have her for so long. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered always. May God Bless Her and keep her in his care.
My deepest Sympathy to you and your family.
