To Dave's Family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Dave was a great friend who I worked with for years. He always had a good word to say about everyone. I enjoyed getting together with him for the retirees breakfast. He will be missed.

Dave,
We'll never forget the four years we all spent with you as our incredible guitar player in our high-school band, The New Morning Son. Great times, bro. Loved your Dad too! No one else could pick up and carry my Hammond organ from Jimmy's basement and load it into the truck ALL BY THEMSELVES! And your Gretsch Country Gentleman was a legend - who needed Hendrix?!? We had the real deal! And don't forget our James Brown "Live At The Apollo" set! And the kids at Clary School that stood in front of us and did Temptations moves through it all. We got more left, Davey. See you soon!
The Band (New Morning Son)
* Dave Johnson - guitar, vocals
* Chris Poole, bass
* Jimmy Burns, Drums, vocals, cowbell
* Mark Topp, Trumpet, vocals
* Kenny Whistler, Dual saxes
* Denny Tracy, Organ, lead vocals

So sad to hear of Dave's passing. I was honored to have him as my first officer on the job at Engine 7 in 1983. Always even tempered, a great laugh, loved his family immensely. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

But we are “giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you [Dave] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light” (Col 1:12). Love and prayers, Patty and Bob

I was very sorry to hear of Dave's passing...he was a classmate at CBA and I remember him as somewhat quiet, friendly, and always interested in what was going on with our lives at school and what our plans were after graduation. My thoughts and prayers to his wife Diana and his children and their families. Sincerely, Mickey Flanagan (CBA class of '70)
