Obituary of Robert L. Corbett

Robert L. Corbett, 80, of Syracuse, New York died Friday, August 25, 2006 at Loretto in Syracuse. Robert was born February 18, 1926 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Lawrence M. and Violet (Plume) Corbett. He retired in 1988 from Niagara Mohawk. He was a Navy veteran of WW II serving on the USS Terror, a communicant of St. James Church, a member of Valley Men?s Club and a member of the Valley American Legion Post #1468. He had also lived in North Fort Myers, Florida. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Regina "Rita" (Same) Corbett, December 25, 2001. Robert is survived by his three daughters, Teresa (Jon) Owen of Onondaga Hill, New York, Carol (Farrell) Sutherland of Trumansburg, New York and Mary (Mike) Michaels of Onondaga Hill, New York; three sons, Michael L. Corbett, Thomas R. (Kathy) Corbett and James P. (Catherine) Corbett, all of Syracuse, New York; nine grandchildren, Bryan and Emily Owen, Tyler and Anna Sutherland, Patrick, Kayleigh and Chelsea Corbett, Tess and Taylor Michaels; a brother-in-law, Vince Same of Cape Coral, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Tuesday, August 29, 2006, 9:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse and 10:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial with Military Honors: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, New York.
