Obituary of Ralph E. Rounds

Ralph E. Rounds died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse, New York. Ralph was born December 29, 1923 in Jamesville, New York, the son of Royal D. and Elsie V. (Harris) Rounds and lived his whole life in the Jamesville area. He graduated from Jamesville High School in 1942. During WWII he served in the 5th Army in North Africa, Italy and the Philippines. He graduated from Morrisville College in 1947 and retired from East Syracuse Chevrolet Sales after 40 years of service. He was a life-long member of Jamesville Community Church, serving in several leadership capacities and was a member of Liverpool Syracuse Lodge #501 F&AM. He was an active member in the Town of DeWitt and Town of LaFayette Senior Citizen Groups. He volunteered at the Iroquois Nursing Home Gift Shop for eight years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and bowling. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Anne L. Tillman Rounds in 1995 and two brothers, Richard and William Rounds. Surviving are his wife, Ester Brinkerhoff Rounds; one daughter, Margaret A. Farley of Austin, Texas; one son, Dana E. (Sheila) Rounds of Albany, New York; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Farley of Austin, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service: Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 2:30 p.m. in Jamesville Community Church, 4300 East Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, New York. Burial will be private in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 6471 Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, New York. Calling Hours: Tuesday, May 9, 2006, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S.
