Obituary of Robert J. Moran

Robert J. Moran, 72, of Onondaga Hill, New York and Jensen Beach, Florida and formerly of "The Valley in Syracuse, New York, died Saturday, February 18, 2006 at home. Robert was born November 15, 1933 in Syracuse, New York, the son of John and Catherine (Smyth) Moran. He graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy and attended Alfred State University. He was a Marine Corps veteran of Korea. He retired in 1989 from the Syracuse City Fire Department after 31 years and was a former Herald Journal newspaper distributor. His hobbies included cooking, gardening, bird watching and was an avid mall walker. Robert is survived by his wife of 41 years, Suzanne Ward Moran; three daughters, Kim (Stephen) Poole of Syracuse, New York, Kelly (Daniel) Mahar of Syracuse, New York and Karen (Matthew) Doster of LaFayette, New York; three sons, John (Kathy) Moran of Brewerton, New York, Robert (Fiance, Gayl Dodge) Moran of Syracuse, New York, Timothy (Dawn) Moran of Cicero, New York; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Daniel, Patrick, Alanna, Timothy, Alexander, Cassidy and Jacob; one sister, Margret Rosinski of Ohio; three brothers, James Moran of Pennsylvania, Thomas Moran of Syracuse, New York and Bernard Moran of North Syracuse, New York; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 10:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 4100 E. Genesee Street, Dewitt, New York.
