Obituary of Donald Frederick Longuil

Donald F. Longuil of Bennington, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 1. 2006. Donald was born November 7, 1931 in Hackensack, New Jersey, the son of Robert Ernest and Edith Lillian (Bomm) Longuil. He spent much of his adult life in Syracuse, New York before relocating to the Bennington area two years ago. Mr. Longuil was a U.S. Army veteran and worked over 30 years as a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. At the time of his death he was employed by Carmody's Restaurant, Bennington, VT. Mr. Longuil was an active member of the American Legion, the National Arbor Day Foundation, and before his relocation, the Valley Men's Club and the Central New York Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. Donald is the beloved father of daughters Roberta (Russell) Brown, of League City, Texas, and Jean (Mitchell) Frank, of Shaftsbury, Vermont, grandfather of Taga Cox, Rusty Brown, Bradley and Kyle Frank, and great-grandfather of Macy Fulton. Donald is also survived by his brother Richard Longuil of Brasher Falls, New York, and sister Janet Downie of Springwater, New York, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia E. Sanderson Longuil in 1997. Funeral Service: Monday, February 6, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S.
