Obituary of Ruth Mary Cornish

Ruth Mary Cornish, 77, of Lafayette, New York died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Ruth was born July 21, 1928 in Cortlandville, New York, the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy Mae (Parker) Miller. She retired in 1992 after more than 10 years from New York State Division For Youth as an Executive Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, was a collector of American Girl Dolls and Historical Dolls, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, caligraphy and reading. She was a wonderful pastry chef and had an interest in British History and the Royal Family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cornish in 1978. Ruth is survived by her four daughters, Dorothy E. Cornish of LaFayette, New York, Patricia E. (Mrs. Raymond) Chittendon of Sandy Creek, New York, Barbara E. Cornish of Syracuse, New York and Cathleen E. Cornish of LaFayette, New York; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Parker and Rebecca Blythe Chittendon.
