Obituary of Benito Ben" Fortino

Benito "Ben" Fortino, 73, life resident of Syracuse, New York, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at home after a long illness. Benito was born October 1, 1932 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Carmen and Philomina (Notarfrancisco) Fortino. He retired in 1985 from Allied Chemical after 36 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He loved fishing and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Ben is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Thomas Fortino; daughter, Helen M. Fortino of LaFayette, New York; two sons and daughters-in-law, William (Patricia) Fortino of Cicero, New York and Michael (Danielle) Drake of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, William Benito Fortino, Melissa Marie Fortino, Caitlyn Janet-Marie Fortino and McKenna Nicole Fortino; three sisters, Viola Lambert of Syracuse, New York, Olga Goult of Westvale, New York and Mary Ann Fatcheric of Camillus, New York. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, December 13, 2005, 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
