Obituary of Omer Lebrun

Omer Lebrun, 85, of The Valley, and formerly of Ferndale Drive, both in Syracuse, New York, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Community General Hospital. Omer was born March 7, 1920 in St. Alberts, Ontario, Canada, the son of Paul and Dora (Bourgeois) Lebrun. He was co-owner of Flor-Wall Distributors in Syracuse, retiring in 1982. He served in the Canadian Army in Africa during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Church, former member and Commander of Can/Am Legion Post #173, founding board member of Midstate Youth Hockey and an assistant scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 148. He enjoyed traveling and camping in the great outdoors and gardening. He was an avid hockey fan and was very active in the raising of his pride and joy "his grandchildren". His life revolved around his wife, Ella who died October 28th, his children and his grandchildren. He was a very caring gentleman. Omer is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Marcel (Stephanie) Lebrun of Syracuse, New York and Gary (Lianne) Lebrun of Nedrow, New York; three grandchildren, Nicole, Kristen and Pierre Lebrun; one great-grandson, Dylan Lebrun and two sisters, Germaine Poirer and Clara Lebrun both of Ontario, Canada.
