BRUCE AND I HAVE SHARED MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT FREDA'S DAD THAT WE WILL CHERISH. HE REMINDED ME OF MY OWN FATHER, WHO WAS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER AT WESTINGHOUSE IN BUFFALO, AND ALSO LOVED TO JOURNAL ANYTHING HE OWNED THAT REQUIRED SERVICE. FREDA, YOUR DAD WAS A MAN OF INTEGRITY, YOU COULD SEE IT IN HIS EYES AND HIS ACTIONS. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE MY DAD (DAVE) SHOWING YOUR DAD AROUND HEAVEN AND MABYE EVEN SHOWING HIM HIS PRAYER JOURNAL. THEY WOULD MAKE QUITE A TEAM. I THINK THE BEST NEWS OF ALL IS THERE IS NO PHYSICAL PAIN IN HEAVEN AND I CAN HEAR THE LORD SAYING TO BOB "" WELL DONE, THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT "".

Bob was a true gentleman, a voice of calm and reason during often hectic times at GE. But as I recall, he also rode a motorcycle ... The world would be a better place with more men like Bob.

I know you all will miss your husband and dad. Even though I didn't see Bob very much I enjoyed every visit I had with him. He was a nice man.

Thinking of Uncle Bob, I remember your family visits to Barnard to camp; fishing down Pond Brook behind our house; Uncle Bob showing up with trout for us and visiting in our kitchen; our visits to your camp site and hamburgers around the camp fire. My most vivid memories of Uncle Bob are centered around Thanksgiving at Journey's End. We'd all look out the window every few minutes waiting for Uncle Bob's blue station wagon to pull into the yard. Thanksgiving couldn't begin--in feeling--until that car pulled into the drive. I also recall your first visit to Journey's End for a Thanksgiving--we'd heard so many stories; my Dad (Roger Greenslet) had explained how tiny you were; how tough it was for you to breath etc; and we were expecting you to be "small enough to hold in our hands" as that's what the adults had told us! Imagine our surprise when your Dad came through the door carrying the most lovely baby girl we'd ever seen! He was very careful of you and didn't laugh at us for our mistake--just smiled and said, "She's grown a bit since her birth day."
