Obituary of Frederick Charles Luke

Frederick Charles Luke, 89, of Syracuse, New York, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Frederick was born May 16, 1916 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Fredrick Sylvester and Bessie Chloe (Hines) Luke. He attended Central High School and Syracuse University, both in Syracuse, New York. He worked for IBM in Nashville, Tennessee during WW II, returning to Syracuse to take over his father-in-law?s photography studio, Charlesworth Studio on Harrison Street, for ten years. The remainder of his career, he was a manufacturing sales representative for various electronic firms in Syracuse, retiring in 1985. He was a member & President of Syracuse Photography Guild, an avid gardener and a ship model builder. He loved to golf and enjoyed music. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Elizabeth Charlesworth Luke, January 17, 1990 and his brother, Paul Luke in 1986. Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Teasa Luke of Tully, New York; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Carol and Jon Herbig of Gladstone, Missouri, Kim and Edward Avedisian of Warwick, Rhode Island, Joanne Luke of Warwick, Rhode Island and Maryellen and Demo Stathis of Jamesville, New York; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Calling Hour: Thursday, November 17, 2005, 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Memorial Service: Thursday, November 17, 2005, 1:00 p.m. in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
