Obituary of Ruth A. Olney

Ruth Antoinette Olney, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2005 at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, New York. She was surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born January 19, 1923 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Albert and Mary Lena (Amann) Darling. She lived in Syracuse all of her life. She was a full time homemaker, avid gardener and had an incurable shopping habit. She loved spending time with her family and watching them grow. She was predeceased by her dearly loved husband, Edward R. Olney on March 17, 1991. Ruth is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Janis) Olney, Robert (Joan) Olney and Ronald (Sandy) Olney; one daughter and son-in-law, Tami (Mark) Shingler; one brother, Albert Darling; two sisters, Dorthy Bergman and Virginia Bergman; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services: Thursday, November 3, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
