Obituary of Richard E. Dodge

Richard E. "Dick" Dodge, 69, of LaFayette, New York died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 20, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born October 2, 1936 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Earl and Florence (Appleton) Dodge. He retired in 2004 from Polk City Directories. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. Dick is survived by his loving children, Richard R. Dodge of LaFayette, New York, Navy CAPT Deborah Dodge of Syracuse, New York, Sharon (Roger) McElhannon of LaFayette, New York, Stacy Langdon of Concorde, North Carolina, Stephanie Parr of Tully, New York and Betty Lyons, Nedrow, New York; stepchildren, Dr. Erik Sorensen of Princeton, New Jersey, Timothy Dodge of Tully, New York and Carolyn "Carrie" Dodge of Fulton, New York. Dick was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Dodge, January 22, 2004. Dick is also survived by his loving companion, Gloria Hirst; three sisters, Eleanor Burt of Tully, New York, Gertrude Galvin of Warners, New York and Marilyn O'Mara of Syracuse, New York; three brothers, Edward Dodge of Bernhard's Bay, New York, Leonard Dodge of LaFayette, New York and Bruce Dodge of Jordan, New York; his former wife, Roberta Marty Dodge of Tully, New York; seven loving grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
