Obituary of G. Lewis Merrell

G. Lewis Merrell, 92, formerly of 175 Seeley Avenue, Syracuse, New York, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Alterra Wynwood in Manlius, New York. Lewis was born October 15, 1912 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Charles Lewis and Henrietta (Hose) Merrell. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Engineering. He retired in 1978 as a Research & Development Chemist with Church & Dwight in Solvay after 35 years. Lewis is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn Lee Merrell of Elbridge, New York and Margaret A. "Peggy" (Richard) Bobik of Syracuse, New York; his son, Albert C. Merrell of Syracuse, New York; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee Garrett Merrell in 2001; a grandson, Richard Dimmler in 2003; two granddaughters, Marlene Marie Dimmler in 1962 and Donna Downing Clarke in 2005 and one sister, Esther Stockton in 1998.
