Obituary of Marian W. Eger

Marian Wetzel Eger, formerly of Barnes Avenue, Syracuse, New York, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at Iroquois Nursing Home, just three weeks away from her 95th birthday. Marian was born September 6, 1910 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Kuckhoff) Wetzel. She was a life resident of Syracuse. Marian was a member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church where she was a past president of the Women's Association, a member of the Onondaga Guild, Women's Auxiliary of Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Order of the Eastern Star, Onaway, Medicians (formerly Ka-Na-Te-Nah Jrs), Auxiliary of Onondaga County Health Department and served on the Board of Directors of Camp Fire Girls. Marion is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Edwina (Malcolm) Norton of Fayetteville, New York and Marie"Penny" Eger of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren, Marybeth Young and Carol Rountree of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sally Norton of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Barbara Dugan of Fayetteville, New York and Lawrence Norton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Egar, September 21, 1995. Services: Saturday, August 20, 2005, 3:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home.
