Obituary of Samuel C. Sammy" Buckley

Samuel C. "Sammy" Buckley, 72, life resident of LaFayette, New York died Monday, July 25, 2005 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Samuel was born August 11, 1932 in Jamesville, New York, the son of Daniel Charles and Lottie Ione (Knapp) Buckley. He retired in December 2004 from New Process Gear following 54 years of service as a Job Setter. He was a member of UAW Local 624 in East Syracuse, New York and was a member of the Onativia United Methodist Church. Sammy was a true family man; he particularly enjoyed attending his grandson's baseball games. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed gardening. Sammy is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Deborah Dew, two sons and daughter-in-law; Charles D. (Karen) Bickley of Mexico, New York and Michael Buckley of LaFayette, New York; a brother, Daniel Buckley of Oneida, New York; two sisters, Alice Harris of Fabius, New York and Josephine Hare of Russell Point, Ohio; two grandsons, Joshua and Justin Buckley; a dear friend Amy Wagner of Fabius, New York; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Tuesday, August 2, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Tully Cemetery, State Street, Tully, New York.
