Obituary of Eugene Heizman

Eugene Heizman, 95, of "The Valley" in Syracuse, New York died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Eugene was born December 31, 1909 in Sterling, New Jersey, the son of Otto and Ida (Allemann) Heizman. He resided in Switzerland through his teen years, returing to the United States and settling in Syracuse. He worked as a miller for Marsellus Casket Co. for 30 years and retired in 1972 as a machine operator for Marine Midland Bank after 15 years. He was a communicant of St. James Church and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a real family man and he participated in as many of his grandchildren?s and great-grandchildren?s activities as his health would allow. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Hyland Heizman in 1991. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy H. Clark of Syracuse, New York; four grandaughters, Heidi Clark of Webster, New York, Jeanne (Charles) Clark-Amindja of Skopje, Macedonia, Kimberly Clark of Washington, DC and Dr. Bella Andelle of Syracuse, New York; 5 great-grandchildren, Shannon, Alex, Alida, Kayla and Joshua. Service: Monday, July 25, 2005, 1:00 p.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated.
