Obituary of Bruce W. Barkley

Bruce W. Barkley, 55 of Camillus, New York died Friday, June 3, 2005 at home. Bruce was born April 24, 1950 in Gouverneur, New York, the son of Ross and Velma (Hutt) Barkley. He was a long time resident of the Syracuse/Camillus area. He was employed as Service Manager at Charette Brothers for the past 17 years. He was a drummer with the band "The Outsiders" having a number one hit called "Time Won't Let Me" and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. He was an avid Moose figurine collector. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association in both Watertown, New York and Gouverneur, New York. Surviving are his wife of nine years, the former Lynn Langworthy; one son, Nicholas Barkley of Camillus, New York; one daughter, Kimberly (Jason) Barkley-Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; one brother; Herbert Barkley of Camillus, New York; three sisters, Betty Whalen of Camillus, New York, Faye Lockwood and Linda Syrek both of Gouverneur, New York; and his mother-in-law, Katherine Langworthy of Camillus, New York.
