Obituary of Frances E. DeOrdio

Frances Colway DeOrdio, life resident of The Valley in Syracuse, New York passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the home of her son in Tully, New York. Frances was born September 6, 1936 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of John F. and Bertha Colway. She was a secretary at American Red Cross Blood Program from 1954 to 1960, secretary for Syracuse City School District from 1969 to 1992 and retired from Corcoran High School. She was a past member of CSEA Unit 9, treasurer of Corcoran High School Alumni Association and a member of Onondaga Valley Cemetery Board of Trustees. Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John DeOrdio who died August 19, 1993 and a daughter, Beth who died February 18, 1966. Frances is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John F. (Colleen) DeOrdio of Clay, New York and Glen E. (Janet) DeOrdio of Tully, New York; four granddaughters, Kristen, Gabrielle, Courtney and Lauren; one grandson, Kevin; one sister, Carolyn Learman of Scotia, New York; one brother, Edward Colway of Clearwater, Florida; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends. Services: Saturday, June 4, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Friday, June 3, 2005, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
