Cynthia Fitch Hartkopf, age 78 of "The Valley", Syracuse, New York died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at home. Cynthia was born July 9, 1926 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Guy Sperry and Minnie (Greenberger) Fitch. She was a class of 1944 graduate of North High School. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she sang with the choir and was a former day care worker. A homemaker, she previously worked as a war time worker with General Electric, a floral designer with Carl J. Ballweg Funeral Home and a ceramic teacher. An avid cross stitcher, she also enjoyed reading, particularly Agatha Christie novels. Her husband Louis I. Hartkopf died in 1998. Surviving are her daughter, Heather Anne Hartkopf of Syracuse, New York; two sons and daughters-in-law, Guy (Louise) Hartkopf of Syracuse, New York and Dr. William (Deborah Cline) Hartkopf of Kensington, Maryland; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Louella) Fitch of Canastota, New York; four grandchildren, one great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
