Obituary of Francis F. Godle

Francis F. "Frank" Godlewski, 74 of Lafayette died Monday, April 18, 2005 at University Hospital. A native of Bath, N.Y., he has lived in Lafayette for many years. He was a self employed laborer, primarily working with P&C Markets. He was a life member of the American Legion Valley Post #1468. A guitarist he enjoyed performing Country and Western Music and had the privilege of "jamming" with Johnny Cash. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Phyllis Gailit who died in 1996. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Jean Gailit-Godlewski, three daughters; Rosanne LaPrell of Texas, Shirley Gailit of Conn., Theresa (Mark) Krmenec of Binghamton, a son; Randy (Diane) Gailit of Florida, two brothers; Elwood (Carolyn) Godlewski of Florida, Walter Mackey of Bath, N.Y., seven sisters; Vern McNamara of California, Patricia Wolfanger of Florida, Judi Cutlip of Idaho, Julie (Martin) Weldy and Brandi (Stephen) Graham both of Bath, N.Y., Josie (Jerry) Godlewski of Viginia Beach. Va., Helen (Robert) Keefer of Bradford, N.Y., several grandchildren and a "Blood Brother" Billy Sullivan of Onondaga Nation. Services will be 6:30P.M. Friday, April 22 at the Firekeepers Diner, Onondaga Nation with the Rev. Thomas Schaefer officiating. Burial will be 3:00P.M. Friday, April 29 in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, New York.
