Obituary of Edwin A. Smith

Edwin Arnold Smith, 61, beloved father, grandfather and brother died Friday, April 8, 2005 at University Hospital, Syracuse, New York. Edwin was born January 1, 1944, in Syracuse, New York, the son of the late Edwin Wilbur and Katherine Mae (Beckman) Smith. He was a member of the Onondaga Nation Eel Clan. He served in the Army in Korea, was an avid reader, loved to golf and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his three daughters and son-in-law, Jill Smith of Alexandria, Virginia, Stacy and James Galloway of Syracuse, New York and Leah Shenandoah of Oneida, New York; two sisters, Janet Bengar of Tucson, Arizona and Eloise Giordano of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Galloway both of Syracuse, New York; one niece and her husband, Cynthia and Joseph DeRubertis of Ballston Spa, New York; two nephews, Michael Smith of Baldwinsville, New York and Vincent Giordano of Hopewell, Virginia; three great-nephews, Brandon, Austin and Gennaro. Services: Tuesday, April 12, 2005. 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., and 11:00 a.m. in the Onondaga Nation Longhouse Burial: Onondaga Nation Cemetery.
