Obituary of Alvina B. Champlin

Alvina B. Champlin passed away peacefully at the Rochester, New York home of her beloved family on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the age of 86. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, New York, Alvina was born October 20, 1918 the daughter of Justus and Alice (Lang) Bauer. Alvina was a member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church for many years until she moved to Rochester in 2004, after being diagnosed with cancer. She then became a member of St. Christopher's Church in North Chili, New York. Alvina was a devoted Christian all her life, who modeled the values of faitb, hope and love. She was predeceased by her husband, WW II veteran Harold H. Champlin in 1982; a son, David H. Champlin in 1991 and a sister, Margaret L. Bauer in 2002. Alvina is survived by her son, Mark Champlin and his wife Barbara of Rochester, New York; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Amber, Jonathan and Timothy Champlin; a brother, Robert Bauer and his wife Ruth of Ipswich, Massachusetts; nephew, Russell Bauer; niece, Christine Podmaniczky; great-niece, Katinka Podmaniczky and many dear friends. Graveside Service: Thursday, March 24, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 800 Grant Boulevard, Syracuse, New York.
