Obituary of Bernice C. Abend

Bernice C. Abend, 92, formerly of Nedrow, New York, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Bernice was born July 7, 1912 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of William and Clara (Amend) Guckert. She was employed as an office manager at Darling Ice Cream. She was a member of Pairs & Squares Dance Club, Lace Ballroom Group, Onondaga Hill Seniors, Home Crafters and a communicant of St. James Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Abend in 1996. Bernice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia A. and John Fiscoe of Clay, New York; grandson, Jeffrey Fiscoe of Clay, New York; several nieces and nephews including Rev. William Guckert of Brewerton, New York. Services: Tuesday, March 15, 2005, 8:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse and 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S.
