Obituary of Donald S. Waters

Donald S. Waters, 84, of Camillus, New York and formerly of Lynch Avenue, Syracuse, New York, went to his Heavenly home Tuesday, February 1, 2005. Donald was born November 4, 1920 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Charles O. and Ruth (Davidson) Waters. He served his country as a Staff Sgt. of the Army Air Force in the South Pacific. He was a letter carrier for the US Post Office for 37 years. Don was an avid sportsman, he played and refereed basketball and football, and he bowled with the church league. He loved gardening and camping. His family is left with many memories of trips all over our country. He was a charter member and President of the Hiawatha Camping Chapter. Don was an Elder of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and, until his illness, served his Lord in any way that he could. Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Winchell Waters; three daughters and their husbands, Donna (John) Mathewson, Sally (Phil) Strough both of the Town of Onondaga, New York and Susan (Richard) Melchior of Camillus, New York, and five grandchildren. A beloved and loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all. He donated his body to science. There will be no calling hours. Memorial Service: Saturday, February, 5, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Presbyterian Church, 1640 South Avenue, Syracuse, New York.
