Obituary of Elizabeth R. Jones

Elizabeth R. "Betty" "Liz" Jones, 86, of the Onondaga Nation died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, New York. Elizabeth was born April 9, 1918 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Edward Jones and Ida Mae Burns. She was a member of the Turtle Clan of the Oneida Indian Nation. She retired in 1994 after 30 years at Abajian Cleaners where she was a silk finisher. She enjoyed work and her family. Liz is survived by three daughters, Roxanne (Burt) Hatter of Phoenix, New York, Roberta Webster of Syracuse, New York and Bonnie (Charles) Kristianovich of Syracuse, New York; one son, Jack Jones of Verona, New York; one sister, Irene Greene of Oneida, New York; one brother, Art Jones of Nedrow, New York; 13 grandchildren, Rhonda, Gordon Jr., Jason, Shannon, Joseph, Aaron, Stacie, Leslie, Kerry, Brandon, Jack Jr., Adelina and Davey; nine great-grandchildren, Alex, Mike, Nautica, Amber, Sam, Alaya, Zac, Kaylyn and Erica; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the family home, Route 11A, Box 298, Onondaga Nation. Services: Sunday, January 30, 2005, 11:00 a.m. in the home. Burial: Onondaga Nation Cemetery.
