Obituary of Nicholas A. Staffiero

Nicholas A. Staffiero, 86, of South Onondaga, New York died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Community General Hospital. Nicholas was born March 23, 1918 in Dobbs Ferry, New York, the son of Angello and Chrisendo (Giandolphi) Staffiero. He retired from New Process Gear in 1980 after 30 years. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church, a charter member of the former Knock-Out Club which is now the 20/20 Club at New Process Gear, a member of Tanner Valley and Orchard Vali Golf Clubs. He participated in numerous golf leagues in the Syracuse area and was an avid vegetable gardner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Brown Staffiero, January 9, 2002. Nicholas is survived by four daughters, Diane Staffiero of Key West, Florida, Dolores Zarcone of Scottsdale, Arizona, Donna Werner of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Kim Reynolds of Camillus, New York; one son, Nicholas B. Staffiero of Chittenango, New York; five sisters, Rose Staffiero, Diane Staffiero and Margaret Jotso, all of Suffern, New York, Anna Abelman of New Jersey and Louise Riviezzo of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Tony Staffiero of New Jersey and Sammy Staffiero of White Plains, New York; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services: Saturday, January 29, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., with Father Dennis Hayes officiating. Spring Burial: Thursday, May 19, 2005, 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Route 80, Otisco, New York. Calling Hours: Friday, January 28, 2005, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 29, 2005, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, New York.
