Obituary of Stella Thayer

Stella Thayer, age 87, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Syracuse Home Association, Baldwinsville, New York. Stella was born February 28, 1917 in Watertown, New York the daughter of Rocco and Anna (Onembo) Roma. She was a graduate of Watertown High School. She was employed as a cashier at Mario?s Big M and was a communicant of St. James Church, both in Syracuse. She was always a caregiver and she loved to play cards. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Thayer in 1978, granddaughter, Rochelle Thayer, grandson, Joseph Thayer Jr., and three sisters, Laura Cerio, Lucy Fazio and Mary Roma. Survivors: daughter, Patricia Carpenter of South Onondaga; son, Joseph Thayer of Syracuse; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and four nephews. Services: Monday, May 17, 2004, 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Monsignor Robert Davern.
