Obituary of Carl H. Griesel

Carl H. Griesel, age 92, of Nedrow, New York died Friday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Carl was born July 12, 1911 in Amsterdam, New York, the son of August C. and Genevieve (Riel) Griesel. He retired from New Process Gear and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former CCC in Idaho and California, an avid golfer and a member of the Nedrow Frog Hollow Hackers at Westvale Golf Club. He enjoyed reading and loved animals. Carl is survived by five nephews; August "Tim" Griesel of Westvale, New York, Robert Washburn of Mechanicsville, New York, David Sargent, Bruce Sargent and Phillip Sargent all of California; one niece, Genevieve Monsour of Syracuse, New York; several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, August C. Griesel, Robert Washburn and Lillian Sargent.
