Obituary of Mildred Buck Rickley

Mildred Buck Rickley, 101, died Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Mildred was born February 5, 1903 on Onondaga Hill, the daughter of Fred and Laura (Abbey) Buck. She was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and graduated Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1924. During her career, she taught science, Latin, was vice-principal at Raquette Lake Union School and retired in 1964 after 23 years teaching mathematics at Moravia Central High School. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Wallace Mooney in 1937 and James Peter Rickley in 1965; daughter, Laura Wilma Bean and great-grandaughter, Kathryn "Katie" Marie Nelson both in 2000. Mildred is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Jean and Leonard LaLonde of Syracuse, New York and Carol Ann and Charles Baildon of Moravia, New York; two step-daughters and their husbands, Ramola and Paul Piwinski of Auburn, New York and Cheryl and Daniel Martin of Rahway, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Dorothy Chavoustie of Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York.
