Obituary of Allen B. Gilbert

Allen B. Gilbert, 84, formerly of Nob Hill Apts., Syracuse, New York died Friday, February 22, 2004 at Hallmark Nursing Centre, Minoa, New York. Allen was born January 19, 1920 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Foster and Mildred (Barker) Gilbert. He attended Onondaga Valley Academy, retired from General Motors and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Gilbert in 1970. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Virginia Bregard; two daughters, Cheryl Gilchrist of Minoa, New York and Susan Scott of Syracuse, New York; one son, Allen F. Gilbert of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Ruth Smith of Florida, Constance Zoch of Texas and Priscilla Gilbert of Syracuse, New York; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services: Tuesday, February 24, 2004, 7:30 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Graveside Service: Wednesday, February 25, 2004, 11:00 a.m. in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
