Obituary of Norma B. Foster

Norma B. Foster died Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, New York, three days short of her 104th birthday. Norma was born February 4, 1900 in Governour, New York, the youngest of five children born to Harvey P. and Frances E. (Miller) Bignall. She lived in Delphi Falls, New York before retiring to Syracuse, New York in 1958. She graduated from Gouverneur High School and Potsdam Normal School. She then began her teaching career and retired from teaching in 1955 from the Fabius-Pompey Central School. She was a wonderful person and she had may fascinating stories to tell about the past. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Foster in 1977. Mrs. Foster is survived by her friends, Al and Barb Halstead of Syracuse, New York, Jim and Jane Ottoman of Baldwinsville, New York and Wayne and Laurel Homer of Cortland, New York. Serivces: Wednesday, February 4, 2004, 11:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Russell Hall officiating. Spring Burial: Marathon Cemetery, Marathon, New York. Calling Hours: Wednesday, February 4, 2004, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
