Obituary of Grace L. Pendergast

Grace L. Pendergast, age 92, formerly of Crippen Ave, Syracuse, New York died Saturday, January 31, 2004 in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area where she moved to in May of 2000 to be closer to her daughter. Grace was born August 13, 1911 in Moravia, New York, the daughter of Earl and Bertha (Hardy) Cuykendall. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, Calvery Chapter #752. She served as photographic office manager for both Michael Romeo and the Lincoln Stores. Grace retired in 1978 after 20 years at the Elizabeth Arden counter of the Addis Company. She volunteered for the Red Cross during WW II and for Girl Scout Troop #123. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Pendergast in 2002 and a son Donald E. Woods in 1996. Mrs. Pendergast is survived by her daughter, Ginny Nolin of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; one brother, Willard Cuykendall of Binghamton, New York; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two cousins; several nieces and nephews. Services: Wednesday, February 4, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Burial: White Chapel Memory Gardens, Kinnie Road, Dewitt, New York. Calling Hours: Wednesday, February 4, 2004, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
