Obituary of Helen G. Russell

Helen G. Russell, age 96, formerly of 121 Lafayette Road, Syracuse, New York, died Friday, December 19, 2003 at Loretto, Syracuse. Helen was born September 9, 1907 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George and Emma (Broghamer) Goebel. She resided in New York City and moved to Syracuse in 1972 when she retired as a Schooling Nurse at Mt. Sini Hospital in New York City. She was a communicant of St. James Church and a hospice volunteer at Francis House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Russell in 1966 and a sister, Rosalie Bottum. Mrs. Russell is survived by one sister, Marie Goebel of Syracuse, New York and one brother, Carl Goebel of Melborne, Florida; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. Services: Monday, December 22, 2003, 9:00 a.m. in Loretto Interfaith Chapel where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Daniel J. O'Hara. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, 4100 E.
