Obituary of Deputy Glenn M. Searles

Glenn M. Searles, age 31, of Marcellus, New York and formerly of Liverpool, New York, was killed in the line of duty Saturday, November 29, 2003. Glenn was born August 5, 1972 in Rochester, New York. He was a 1990 graduate of Liverpool High School and a graduate of the 53rd class of the Central New York Police Academy. He was a Sheriff's Deputy for the Onondaga County Sheriff?s Department and worked previously as a forensic investigator for the Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office. Deputy Searles is survived by his father and stepmother, Gary and Elizabeth Searles of Solvay; his mother, Geri Garnet Unrue of Baltimore, Maryland; his fiancee, Lynda Smalley of Marcellus; one brother and sister-in-law, Geoffrey and Katie Searles of Dundalk, Maryland; stepbrother, Jeremy Monica of Solvay; stepsister and her husband, Kami and Joe Watkins of Solvay; stepsister, Randee Campbell of Solvay; maternal step-grandparents, Gerald & Nora Elizabeth McSweeney of Boynton Beach, Florida; five nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Service: Thursday, December 4, 2003, 11:00 a.m. in Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception, 259 E. Onondaga Street, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, 2932 Warners Road, Warners, New York.
