Obituary of Ambrose Al" Abert

Ambrose "Al" Abert, 77 of Nedrow died Thursday. Born in Syracuse he worked for the Syracuse Police Department from 1950 - 1970.He was the recipient of the Francis Hendricks Heroism Medal and retired at the rank of Sergeant. After retirement from the police department he worked for Niagara Mohawk as a technician from 1970-1993, retiring in 1993. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. Survivors: his wife of 56 years, the former Charlotte Ann Cosselman three daughters, Nancy Ann Sanford of Huntsville, AL, Pamela Jean Boyle of Nedrow, NY Karen Marie Seamans of Fabius, NY; two sons, Mark Alan of Nedrow, NY and Ambrose Charles of Syracuse, NY, one sister Marjorie Abert of Eastwood; a brother, Arthur of Camillus, NY; 10 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Burial, Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
