Obituary of George Edward Bouchard

George Edward Bouchard, 89, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, formerly of Syracuse died Thursday, August 31, 2003 in Virginia. George was born August 9, 1913 in Rochester, New York, the son of David and Helen (Marshall) Bourchard. He live most of his life in Syracuse, New York and moved to Fredericksburg in 1987. He was a Legal Business Agent and Labor Organizer for United Food and Commercial Workers International Union AFL-CIO for the states of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, arbitrating cases, mediating and negotiating contracts and fighting for human rights. He retired after 35 years to continue on as a private consultant for many unions and major corporations. Mr. Bouchard was a member of numerous fraternal organizations in Syracuse including American Legion Post 1468, the Tigris Temple Shrine, the Konosioni Masonic Lodge #950, of which he was a Master Mason, and Central City Knights Templers, of which he was a Past Commander. He also continued membership in many of these organizations in the Fredericksburg area and was a member of the Spotswood Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His first wife, Dorothy Miller Bouchard, and his son, Rodney G. Bouchard preceded him in death. George is survived by his wife, Nina Williams Bouchard; daughter, Diane Weppner of Manassas, Virginia; stepson, Donald Williams of Spotsylvania, Virginia; brother, Lewis Bouchard of Rochester, New York; grandsons, Justin Weppner, George Bouchard and James Bouchard; four great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Services: Monday, August 4, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Dick Olmstead officiating Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
