Obituary of Doris H. Essig

Doris H. Essig, age 87, of Syracuse, New York died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Doris was born March 16, 1916 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Warren J. and Ella I. (Jordan) Mace. She was a 1932 graduate of Central High School. She worked for Atlas Bakery and Corcoran High School and she volunteered at Community General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Essig who died June 23, 2003 and her son "Dickie" who died in 1956. Mrs. Essig is survived by one daughter, Marian E. Galster of Syracuse, New York; one son, David R. Essig of Camillus, New York; one brother, Kenneth W. Mace of Marcellus, New York; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 1, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Craig French officiating. Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, 800 Grant Boulevard, Syracuse, New York.
